Easy Read flurry to end 2013

The end of 2013 (and the beginning of 2014) ended with a bang rather than the proverbial whimper here at Easy Read Documents HQ. Work from Advance UK, Transport for London and Global Village Translation ensured we were busy all the way through the festive period and beyond.

First up was an Easy Read transcription of the Powys Teaching Health Board Annual Quality Statement, which was referred from Global Village Translation who provide technical document, legal and business translation services.

The work required a 14,000-word document to be converted into a just under 4,000-word Easy Read document. It was delivered to Global Village pre-deadline and Powys were satisfied with the document.

Then just a week or so before the Christmas was an Easy Read version of the progress report of the Single Equality Scheme for Transport for London. The original report was a 20,000-word document.

Just to put this into perspective a novelette is 7,500 to 20,000 words and a novella is 20,000 to 50,000 words.
