A 'fillable' complaints form, no printer required
The Brief
Islington Council asked us to produce a straight forward easy-to-read document for their dedicated social services complaints service.
The Document
Using PhotoSymbols4 we produced a brand new document partly based on their corporate complaints form.
This was provided as a print-ready document, a web-optimised pdf and as a fillable pdf. The latter enables complainants to complete the form online, save and email without the need for printing out a hard copy.
Printing documents at home can be a tricky task, rendered even trickier with the popularity of tablets and smartphones, as neither device easily links to a printer. .

Easy Read audio
We also produced a spoken word audio version of Islington's council-wide complaints leaflet, to enhance the accessibility and audience of the document.
As Easy Read documents are shorter than the original, this results in a pithier audio that doesn't take so long to listen to. And although there's a lot of accessible software (for visually impaired and blind people) that reads text on websites and documents out loud, the human voice is much more listenable!
